With a new line up and a sound edgier than ever, SAFEHOUSE are going from strength to strength. As well as wowing audiences in their native Scotland SAFEHOUSE also gig in Europe, where they have a loyal fan base.

Original member Andrew Stirling has been joined by 2 former **BLUES 'N' TROUBLE members John Bruce on guitar & Sean Scott on drums. The line up is completed by keyboard player Ali Petrie (Hobotalk + others) & Chris Peebles, frontman & vocalist extraordinaire! Together they form a formidable outfit which never fails to please or excite the crowds!

Although rooted in the Blues, their repertoire covers a mix of original material & carefully chosen covers (TRAFFIC, TYA, MOBY GRAPE, LITTLE FEAT, OTIS RUSH, BO DIDDLEY etc..), & showcases how they can turn their hands to playing hard hitting Rock, through Blues to full blown Psychedelia!

The band are currently writing more original material, scheduling a ‘live’ album and planning overseas festival appearances.

**Blues 'N'Trouble toured & guested with many blues greats including BB King, Robert Cray, Pinetop Perkins, Charlie Musselwhite, Buddy Guy & Junior Wells. They recorded with "sixth Stone" Ian Stewart, enjoying indie chart succes, and also recorded Lazy Lester’s comeback album produced by legendary producer Mike Vernon, for which a W.C.Handy award was won!

band Line Up

Andrew Stirling - Bass Guitar

Original  Safehouse member, instigator and promoter.

His decision to quit playing and coaching field hockey was an easy decision to make, with the bands needs and time constraints mounting. Andrew loves every minute of playing live and has no end to the heights Safehouse can reach. Since the bands conception his loud shirt and guitar collection has grown out of all proportion, along with his belly and capacity to down wine during a gig!

John Bruce - Lead Guitar

 (Captain Chaos)

John has come a long way for one of the boys who jammed on the school theatre steps at lunch time. He has always been happiest with a guitar in his hand and has tried his best to stick to a real bluesman lifestyle

Capable of lifting the proceedings to a new high John always entertains. (He has more tricks than Paul Daniels). Over the years he has supported BB King , Bo Diddley, Robert Cray, JohnMayall, Jack Bruce, Junior Wells, Van Morrison, Albert King, Otis Rush and many others, and has recorded with Ian Stewart ( The Stones fifth member) and Lou Martin (Rory Gallagher).

Touring Europe with Blues and Trouble for festivals and to support their many CD launches became a way of life for John along with the occasional jaunt to the States, (his guitar still hangs on the wall in the Rum Boogie Bar in Memphis) . Then came the children, the wife and a period of settled home life and an end to the B and T lifestyle. Don’t worry folks, you can’t keep a good man down and John can still hold a note, play great slide and go on a bender with the best of them, and the best news of all is that he is back writing again ,Europe here we come …..

Chris Peebles - Vocals

CHRIS is originally from the east Neuk of Fife a singer/songwriter who has  played with numerous local Bands. He met John Bruce about 10 years ago and  was always a standout feature at "The Blue Note" Cafe's Open Mic Night in Anstruther. He sang with The Johnny Bluenote Experience, travelled all over the place busking & picking grapes. Earlier this year, he was called upon to do Vocals on Jimmy Brown's Memorial Concert and impressed everyone so much he was offered the position of Lead Vocalist with Safehouse.

Chris brings 'youth', 'energy' and 'excitement' to the band and he  always puts heart & soul into his performance.
His influences include JIM MORRISON, 'FLOWER POWER', 'PSYCHEDELIA' & DAME EDNA EVERAGE.
His vocals & dynamic stage performances are a true asset to the Band!

Sean Scott - Drums

Sean started playing with Indie Rock band The Subject (which included  Pete Wishart who went on to be keyboard player in early Big Country and  RunRig but is now an SNP MP!) Sean then played with Indie Rock Band Fifth Estate before joining Bues n Trouble where he featured on all their albums between 1984 and 1990; including Lazy Lester Rides Again; Slim Tab Hunters “ Rockin n Beatin” and other session stuff he can’t remember now. Having taken a twenty year break he's now back playing with Safehouse. His drumming influences were Neil Peart (Rush) and then later Fran Christina (Fab T-Birds) and is a Steve Earle. Memorable gigs included Preservation Hall & the Queens Hall in Edinburgh  but hit the festival highs with Blues in Trouble playing on the back of a flatbed lorry outside the high flats in Broomhoose!

Ali Petrie - Keyboards

Ali has been influenced by good old fashioned keyboard players with soul and vibe, particularly Ian McLagan (Faces) and Billy Preston, focussing mainly on traditional Hammond, piano and Wurlitzer instruments.  He has toured Europe many times with Hobotalk, and his British gigs have included playing the Shepherds Bush Empire with Gomez and closer to home he played the Queens Hall supporting another hero, Garth Hudson.
