Jim
Brown (Vocals, guitar and mandolin)
A former member of Blues’n’Trouble, in fact together with John and Tim Elliot,
he was a co-founder and the only man, to date, to have left and rejoined their
ranks
on three occasions. (Partly due to him being “unhinged.”) Jim was also in
Lights Out, Loose Ends and Wild Willie’s Sensational Elastic Band with John and,
after B’n’T, he formed a band called Breadline for around two months, then he
left. Heavily influenced by The Stones, The Faces, Little Feat, Ry Cooder and
Dylan, Jim is a prolific songwriter and has recently resumed his writing
partnership with John. Jim, John and Andrew go back to the 70s when they
practiced in Andrew’s front room at the Zoo. (They only got out at weekends.) Be
warned, don’t offer to buy Jim a drink…he’ll take it.
John Bruce
- Lead Guitar

John has come a long way for one of
the boys who jammed on the school theatre steps at lunch time. He has always
been happiest with a guitar in his hand and has tried his best to stick to a
real bluesman lifestyle
Capable of lifting the proceedings
to a new high John always entertains. (He has more tricks than Paul Daniels).
Over the years he has supported BB King , Bo Diddley, Robert Cray, John Mayall,
Jack Bruce, Junior Wells, Van Morrison, Albert King, Otis Rush and many others,
and has recorded with Ian Stewart ( The Stones fifth member) and Lou Martin
(Rory Gallagher).
Touring Europe with Blues and
Trouble for festivals and to support their many CD launches became a way of life
for John along with the occasional jaunt to the States, (his guitar still hangs
on the wall in the Rum Boogie Bar in
Memphis) . Then
came the children, the wife and a period of settled home life and an end to the
B and T lifestyle. Don’t worry folks, you can’t keep a good man down and John
can still hold a note, play great slide and go on a bender with the best of
them, and the best news of all is that he is back writing again ,Europe here we
come …..
Alex
Bruce (Drums and percussion)
Jivin’ Johnny Bruce’s big brother, Alex is a veteran of bands from as far back
as the 60s. (He has the bus pass to prove it.) He’s played in bands with Jim and
John in the past and knows only too well what they’re like…and they him. Nobody
knows their way round a kit better than Alex and he’s your man for an unbeatable
beat. His musical tastes are what you might call rich and varied and his
influences too numerous to mention - although the influence of alcohol plays a
small part. He styles himself as Alex Gretsch and was previously known as Alex
Premier and Alex Ludwig… wonder why?) The Beatles had Ringo, The Stones have
Charlie and we have Alex. We’re lucky guys.
Andrew
Stirling - Bass
Guitar
Andrews raunchy bass guitar anchors the bands performances and his drive
and enthusiasm ensures
Mr
Crow continue to become more widely appreciated.
Rodger
- Lead Guitar
Rodger. the most enigmatic member
of the band, no one is quite sure where he lives or what his real name
is. Some say he emerged from the stygian depths of the Disco Funk scene of the
70's others say, that's bollocks, he's really a NASCAR driver who lives
in Bristol. We may
never know the truth. The great bluesman Blind Lips Lemon once said of Rodger, 'Who
he ?'
